Rights and Responsibilities
STATEMENT OF CLIENTS RIGHTS
You have the right to be treated in a fair and dignified manner
You have the right to live in an environment free of discrimination or harassment.
You have the right to private counselling sessions and access to a counsellor.
You have the right to participate in your recovery plan and the setting of goals.
You have the right to have the recovery plan regularly reviewed.
You have the right to have your personal information kept confidential.
You have the right to access your file (as per file Access Policy).
You have the right to have expectations made clear to you by staff, through the Terms of Residency, Daily Routine and Client Guidelines and Expectations.
You have the right to have some of your personal belongings in the residence unless it may be harmful to yourself or others.
You have the right to the choice of your own spiritual beliefs.
You have the right to discharge yourself.
You have the right to an environment that fosters attitudes of respect.
You have the right to approach a staff member should you need help.
You have the right to live in a safe and secure environment.
You have the right to use the complaints process.

You have the responsibility to report any discrimination or harassment.
You have the responsibility to participate in the development of your recovery plan.
You have the responsibility to participate in counselling sessions and to approach your counsellor when you need assistance.
You have the responsibility of keeping confidential any personal information regarding others that you may come in contact with.
You have the responsibility to upholding the expectations as outlined in the Terms of Residency, Daily Routine and Client Guidelines and Expectations.
You have the responsibility of participating in household chores and keeping yourself and your living space clean.
You have the responsibility of approaching staff when you need help.
